Russian punk protesters Pussy Riot have unveiled their hard hitting video to new track Refugees In, a politically charged musical statement about the European refugee crisis.
The video was shot during their live performance in Weston-super-Mare at the closing concert for street artist Banksy’s chaotic ‘bemusement park’ art installation Dismaland.
Footage, directed by Ralf Schmerberg with bretonLABs and Ten Ven, shows the band performing in a cage, while a staged riot and police clashes take place around them. The lyrics pull no punches either, with lines such as: ‘Refugees in, Nazis out, governments here, should feel the shame, f*cking liars, you’re to blame.’
In a statement made even more poignant by last week’s attacks in Paris, the band said: “ISIS will win if Europe rejects the value of multi-culturalism and is terrified by the threats of extreme-right politicians.”
