News: Lunar Festival Announces Full Lineup & Moseley Folk Adds Headliner, Richard Thompson

Lunar Festival and Moseley Folk have both revealed further names for their annual three-day events taking place June 6 – 8 and August 29 – 31 respectively.

Heading up Sunday night at Lunar Festival (an eclectic three day camping extravaganza set in the spiritual home of Nick Drake, Tanworth In Arden), Dallas choral symphonic pop act The Polyphonic Spree join the festival fun. Other acts announced across the long weekend include British Sea Power, The Crazy World of Arthur Brown, Lanterns on the Lake, Toy, Temples, The Magic Band, M O NE Y, Scott Matthews and Birmingham’s own Pram and Goodnight LeninTim Burgess headlines Friday night and Donovan who tops the bill on Saturday. With some of the Midlands’ favourite clubnights and promoters also in residence (Magic Door, Sensateria, Balkanic Eruption, This Is Tmrw) Lunar looks set to be a magical musical jamboree.

tim burgess colourOrganisers have also announced their second headliner for Moseley Folk Festival which takes place in Moseley Park (a site usually reserved for village residents only). Heading up the Saturday night, Fairport Convention co-founder Richard Thompson joins legendary prog folk rock act The Waterboys, who draw the festival to a close with their headline set on Sunday. Also announced are the winners of the Best Group category at last year’s BBC Folk Awards, Lau.
