Cowboy to headline October issue launch party this Thursday

This Thursday sees the next instalment of our monthly issue launch parties, bringing a great selection of the freshest and hottest new talent to The Bull’s Head in Moseley.

As before there will be fun, frolics and FREE MAGAZINES. This month Leamington Spa’s Cowboy top the the bill.

Having played alongside the likes of Sharks, Post War Years and Jaws in their hometown, Cowboy headline for only their second ever Birmingham show. With a delicious and fanciful indie sound indebted to the likes of Wild Beasts and The Maccabees, expect gentle guitars with catchy pop choruses.

Support on the night comes from Tom Peel who has been described as kind of the antithesis of pop; a ‘Louis Theroux-meets-The Moldy Peaches’ (The Fly) character. Doing things to tape players and old bits of recording equipment definitely not noted in their product descriptions, Tom is an all round entertainer – catch him before he jets off to Australia to make friends with the koala bears. Also playing the night is Apollo’s Mob who craft beautiful and intricate classical folk melodies and Germ, a brand spanking new band to the Birmingham circuit. Their debut demo, Soak, has been garnering some incredibly impressive reviews so make sure to head down nice and early to catch it and them in what promises to be a noisy and energetic affair.

The sounds in between the bands will be provided courtesy of the slam dunking marvelous, Youth Man. As always you can expect some cracking music from the next generation of Birmingham talent, mouth-watering drinks deals, and a massive pile of Brum Notes free for the taking. See you down the front!
