Double-BRIT Award nominated musician Yussef Dayes and electronic dance music pioneers Leftfield will be joining US funk/soul act Kool and The Gang at 2024’s Mostly Jazz Funk and Soul Festival.

The annual Moseley Park-based festival opens on Friday 12 July 2024 headlined by Leftfield. Joining them are Mr Scruff, Mo’Wax’s James Lavelle and Ryan Hope (Gabriels), plus there’s also an After Party at the Hare and Hounds featuring a DJ set from Fila Brazillia.

Saturday 13 July 2024 is headlined by multi-instrumentalist and producer Yussef Dayes. His debut solo album, Black Classical Music, was one of the stand-out releases of last year, and boasts guest appearances from Tom Misch, Chronixx, Shabaka Hutchings and more. Joining the London musician is legendary ’70s jazz/funk act The Blackbyrds (all together now: “… doin’ it in the park“), Thumpasaurus and Luke Una.

Saturday night’s After Party, back at Kings Heath’s Hare and Hounds, is hosted by the Leftfoot Allstars.

The festival’s final day, Sunday 14 July 2024, is closed by the previously announced Kool and The Gang. The last day also sees appearances from Craig Charles, sound-system Mungo’s HiFi, Nubiyan Twist, James Hunter, and Ezra Collective member Ife Ogunjobi.

A ‘special guest’ announcement is set to follow.

Tickets are back on sale on Friday 23 February at 10am.
