Birmingham Comedy Festival have announced the nominees for their third Breaking Talent Award.
The annual event aims to recognise the best new and emerging comedic talent from across the West Midlands and officially kicks off the festival on Friday 7 October 2016.
The nominees are Ali Warwood (from Walsall), Harv Hawkins (from Solihull/ Balsall Common), Moses Ali Khan (Moseley, Birmingham), Richard Quarmby (Harborne, Birmingham) and Tom Christian (Sutton Coldfield).
Acts have been selected by a panel of comedy professionals based on their performance over the last 12 months, and their potential to cross-over.
2015’s winner was Josh Pugh, from Warwickshire, who has since gone on to pick up Ubberbelly’s English Comedian Of The Year award.
The show is MC’d by James Cook and features an appearance from Andy Askins, while the Judging Panel includes representatives from the festival, The Glee, BBCWM and Brummie comedy legend, Jasper Carrott.
