A steady stream of stand-ups have been stopping off in Edgbaston this summer en route to Edinburgh, with this appetising double-header the latest in Mac’s series of Fringe warm-ups. The disarming and sardonic Stephen Carlin arrives with endorsement from Stewart Lee, while self-styled Anarchist Cook George Egg presents an innovative mix of comedy and cookery.

London Indian Film Festival

The annual selection of new indie flicks from the subcontinent spreads to Birmingham for the first time, with screenings at Mac and the Broad Street Cineworld.

At Home With Vanley Burke
