Video of the Day: Dirty Projectors

Words by Chris, posted in Features, Music, News on... July 20, 2010

Dirty Projectors have made a career from baffling musical commentators with their genre defying and, at times, baffling approach to record making.

But the results often speak for themselves, no more so than on today’s Video of the Day, the unusually accessible Stillness is the Move.

The track has been re-released this week on 7ins vinyl and boasts a hip-hop beat and cutesie, melodic vocal.

The video itself, directed by Matthew Lessner, is a typically flighty affair, all folksie outfits and some gorgeous scene shots set in Mount Equinox, Vermont, with some cameos from a few llamas and huskies.

Stillness is the Move, originally available to download last year, is taken from their acclaimed 2009 album Bitte Orca, which figured highly in Brum Notes Magazine’s list of the albums of the year.

You can buy the 7ins version direct from Domino records here.
