Preview: Drenge live at the Hare & Hounds, Kings Heath

Don’t be put off by a name that sounds like some kind of dirty sexy parts. Still there? Good, because the cosy Hare & Hounds will house Drenge tomorrow, with support from The Wytches and Bad Moon, and you need to hear about it.

Brothers Eoin and Rory Loveless hail from the Peak District, and sound like the kind of band you’d love to be in. Filthy, Queens of The Stone Age-laden sludge is promised, with more angsty aggression than a Kevin and Perry boxset.

On their website, they literally cite England vs Argentina from the 1998 World Cup as one of their main influences.

There’s no bass involved in a White Stripes/Black Keys kind of way, and judging by the ballsy, borderline vicious feel around the band, things will undoubtedly get a little messy.

Have a butchers at their video for Backwaters:
