People, it’s tonight – our first show of the year, the inaugural Beat the January Blues Party designed to drag you out from that sofa and bring some wonderful local live talent to blast those blues out the ball park.
Taking place at The Bull’s Head in Moseley, we’ve crafted a bill of indie pop electro funk to get your 2014 off to the best possible start.
Opening up the event are funk pop five-piece EKKAH who play one of their first ever shows to date. We’re super excited to have this female-fronted outfit on the bill, and as they’re so new, you won’t find anything online so you’ll to have to pop along to see what all the fuss is about for yourself!
Lovats provide man support for the evening. Taking Foals as a starting point, they’re bringing the electro pop to the party – take a listen to the superb Over, amongst others, below.
Bringing the evening to a crescendo, Eat Y’Self Pretty will play a selection of songs from their new Yo! Miserable EP (review to follow tomorrow) so make sure to check that out in advance.
Sounds in between are provided by the truly outstanding The Grafham Water Sailing Club. In all honestly, it’s a brave band who drop their own tunes, but we’ve included a couple in our playlist for good measure! See our Grafham DJs Playlist for a selection of tunes handpicked by the boys in advance of their set also.
That’s it, take a listen to find out what to expect below and we’ll see you all down the front from 8pm!
