Pop megastar Prince is set to announce a ‘Naked and Pure’ solo tour across the UK and Europe later this month, including a date in Birmingham, according to reports by Spanish newspaper El Pais.
The artist is yet to announce exact venues, dates and on sale details, though according to sources the 16-date run is expected to start in Vienna on Saturday 21 November and end in Brussels on Tuesday 22 December 2015.
Prince issued a statement to media following the reports, saying, “Why do this now? For several reasons. For starters it is a challenge. I rarely get bad reviews because this is something that’s been perfected 4 over thirty years. You have to try new things. With the piano it is more naked, more pure. You can see exactly what you get.”
The singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist’s last performed in Birmingham with 3RDEYEGIRL at the city’s LG Arena, since renamed the Genting Arena, in May 2014. Read our review of that show here
