Mostly Jazz Funk and Soul Festival have revealed their 2020 line-up, and a back up plan in case the current health crisis continues.
Headlining the 11th edition of the hugely popular Moseley Park-based music festival – which runs from 10-12 July 2020 – are 80s/ 90s icon Neneh Cherry and contemporary hitmaker Lianne La Havas.
Joining them across the weekend are a trio of retro legends: reggae’s The Wailers, US funk/ disco act The Fatback Band and Motown’s original stars Martha Reeves and The Vandellas.
Nightmares On wax (performing their second album, Smokers’ Delight, with live strings), Maribou State, The Hypnotic Brass Band, Craig Charles and Norman Jay also appear.
Continually monitoring the situation, organisers are working on the present assumption that the July date will be able to go ahead, although they also have a late-summer weekend also pencilled in, in case they have to postpone until later in the year.
Their message is: “To reiterate: Mostly Jazz Funk and Soul will be happening this summer.”
