The plethora of ‘top tips for 2012’ lists that have filled the pages of national music mags this month have been somewhat lacking in representatives from the West Midlands.
But one Birmingham band that did sneak in there, and deservedly so, are Peace, labelled as “the New Maccabees” in the NME’s 100 New Bands You Have to Hear! feature earlier this month.
A tropical blend of math-rock guitars, swirling rhythms and ethereal vocals, Peace have been enchanting audiences across Birmingham and beyond with some impressive support slots over the past year and look set for even bigger things in 2012.
Peace are live at London’s Camden Barfly on January 28 and Kings Cross Scala on February 28. The band also hinted on their website that they may “release some real life music this year too.”
