Nestled within the Spotlight on Lower Trinity Street Digbeth is a raunchy, bizarre and extravagant new music venue that aims to get you revelling in the excess of American carnival culture. Mama Roux’s has landed and their exuberant feature night is set to take place every Saturday – with burlesque, voodoo, live music and food aplenty.
Mama Roux’s was born from a love for New Orleans and Deep South America, and fittingly, is the new home to Digbeth Dining Club, where visitors will be able to munch down soul food a they revel to sights and sounds of Mama Roux’s DJ Collective, venue hosts and compères, live musicians, actors & entertainers (who entertain on a personal, intimate level throughout the crowd), peep shows, snake charmers, jugglers and conga drummers.
Carnival entertainment aside, the venue also promises lots of comfortable seating (including a hire-able Voodoo Lounge with resident witch doctor), Americana décor, a wide selection of drinks, and a warm and welcoming environment.
Mama Roux’s is now open every Saturday, inside the Spotlight, Lower Trinity Street, Digbeth. Admission paid OTD, free before 9pm, £5 before 11pm. For more pictures check out Mama Roux’s Launch Party Gallery. To keep up to date with events like the Spotlight Facebook page.
