Goodnight Lenin to take over BrumNotesMag Twitter feed for 24hr recording project

Goodnight Lenin will head into the studio today to record and master two tracks all in 24 hours, ready for a limited edition vinyl release to mark next month’s Record Store Day.

The Americana-infused Birmingham band will lay down covers of Almost Cut My Hair and Helpless, originally by Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. Recording will take place on analogue tape at Highbury Studio in Kings Heath, before the band race to Artisan Audio in nearby Moseley to mix and master the tracks.

The tracks will then be released on limited edition 7ins vinyl only on April 19 for Record Store Day. You can also keep a close eye on the project, entitled 24/7, on Twitter as Goodnight Lenin will be taking over the Brum Notes Twitter feed throughout proceedings.

Goodnight Lenin will also celebrate the release with a headline show at the Prince of Wales in Moseley on April 17. Tickets are available here.

See next month’s Brum Notes Magazine for a full breakdown of Record Store Day events across Birmingham.
